A few brief thoughts on 2022 and future plans

We close 2022, a year marked by the war in Ukraine and the associated global energy crisis.
We hope that 2023 brings us peace and the wisdom to move towards a more sustainable, fairer and more respectful world. At CIMNE we want to contribute our bit to make this happen: our scientific activity helps to prevent risks, promotes smart cities, creates a more connected territory, offers efficient solutions to industry, encourages citizen participation in a more sustainable world with a commitment to reducing the carbon footprint.
In 2022 we have turned 35 years old. At the beginning of this month of December, the new director of CIMNE, Javier Bonet, presented to all the staff the draft of the strategic lines of the centre, which will be determined by the future Strategic Plan. It was a participatory process and will help us face the new challenges that are to come and reposition the centre within the Catalan, Spanish, European and international scientific structure, but also in the eyes of society.
Our mission is as simple and as complex as generating solutions to engineering problems.
