The Energy and Environmental Engineering seeks to efficiently use energy and to maintain the environment using numerical methods and technologies for energy and environment, with focus on energy efficiency analysis and design of buildings and urban areas, evaporation methods for fresh water production and preservation of biosphere in ocean and coastal areas as well as carries out holistic risk predictions of structures under risk hazards. FEM for dynamic and seismic analysis of structures, within the Computational solid and structural mechanics research line, is also included in this area.
